I want to make some 10″ pepper grinders as gifts. Where can I find a distributer for the grinder mechanisms. I do not want to pay retail for the mechanism. All help appreciated!!

Try woodturners catalog http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/catalog/kitchenware.html. I have bought a few items from them and always been happy with the service and products.
The standard grinders are Mr. Dudley parts, and I have had real good luck with those. I'm thinking that the next time I am in the mood to make some grinders, I might give their deluxe mechanisms a try. The idea of building a 24" grinder keeps popping into my head.
Good luck.

Packard wood supplies has peppermills from 6" up to 14" I believe.I think the 10" is about ten or twelve dollars.
