Noticed my belt is starting to come apart and am wanting to upgrade to a rubberized type conveyor belt. Anyone know of a source for these?
Thanks,
Dowelman

Look in the yellow pages under rubber. Plenty of places that can custom make conveyor belts for all kinds of industrial application including widebelts. You will have to wing it as to what will work. It will have to be fairly thin but it sounds doable. Never heard of anyone doing it. Here's an example of one such place...

You can do a google search and there is always the Thomas Register, an industrial souurce book found in many libraries and online. Not everyone is listed in there but it's still a popular source
A word of caution, The belt will have to have a canvas type back so it will easily slide on the platin.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to change to a rubberized conveyor?

I want to switch to the rubberized belt because I feel (no evidence) that it will last longer than the standard sandpaper belt. Seems to be a lot of problems with the seams coming apart on them. I know mine is.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the reply.
What has WMH had to say about the expected longevity of their conveyor belts? Do you think it's related to tensioning?
I wonder if other Performax users have experienced the same conveyor belt life challenges you have, and if any of them have tricks they can share to extend the useful life?

I replaced mine a couple months ago and the story I got from WMH was that the expected life was 1 - 1.5 years.
