   The ones I've had the best experience with are the ones that snap together.  Basically you cut out the hole (theres a template) and then press the two plastic door halves together around the door core.  Seemed to be better at keeping cold out and warm in than older style doors.

      Agree with mstens. I have two for the shop cat. One in the shop door and one in the solid door between it and the half-basement. Got them at HD and they were the snap-togethers. Work like a charm. I would buy a size bigger than the chart calls for as to matching weigh to size. Better to big than too small.

      BTW, had to add a 1" wood frame on the back of the entry shop door as where I installed it the thickness was only 1/2". The thickness has to be a minimum of 1" if I remember correctly. Simple add to correct it. The pet door was installed in a panel there, not the main frame.

   Hi, The only thing I can add to what the other Knotheads have advised is to make sure you get one with the magnetized flap door. They do a good job of keeping the flap door shut and the weather out. I've had one in for about eight years (same one) and it's still performing like a champ. Sorry, there is no make on it or I would let you know. I'm pretty sure I got it at Home Despot. BrianBrian
