Hello,
Can anyone tell me… Where can I buy Phenolic Panels, which is used for Router tops tables.
Where can I buy Polycarbonate panels which is generic LEXAN? Woodcraft sells it but it is expensive and is very small 12″X12″. I would like to buy by the panel for flexibility as well as price.
Thank you,

Woodpeckers happens to be having an annual phenolic ply sale going on where they bundle all orders and buy it all at once. Orders need to be in by this Friday though

I know the S&H is likely to be pricey as well though.
If you build it he will come.
I see from their latest catalogue that LV no longer sells phenolic sheets. They don't say why. My local supplier of plastics etc won't handle phenolic. He claims that the dust from cutting and handling it is too carcinogenic for him to expose his (unionized) employees to it. I've no idea how true that is, but I can't find anyone locally who has it.

Just did a MSDS search on Westinghouse phenolic sheets and found out that it is not a carcinogen in itself. But it will cause respiratory system irritation of nose, throat and lungs if dust is breathed.
I imagine those union boys are thinking of the phenolic bound asbestos clutch and break linings. Those are a problem.Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Thanks for the info. I spent a year in my twenties sucking in asbestos dust with no protection, till I found out what it did to you -- not from the outfit I worked for! So far I haven't had to pay the price, but I don't blame anyone for being ultra-cautious about what they breathe.

Been there done that too. Retired out of a coal fueled power house with all kinds of nasties about. Loose asbestos insulation, fly ash, pulverized coal dust, sulfur dioxide gas, ozone, chlorine gas, chromate, hydrozene etc. etc. Twenty five years of that and then OSHA says clean up the mess. Finished out my 30 and said Bye,Bye. OSHA may be a pain in the patoot and MSDS sheets a pain also. But all in all worth it. We had to have MSDS for everything, including windex, hand soap, WD40 ;-)Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

"OSHA may be a pain in the patoot..."
It has been estimated that OSHA has saved more lives during its existence than any other Federal agency over the same time period.

You can usually get polycarbonate at a glass shops.
You can get bulk plastics, including both phenolic and polycarbonate, from McMaster-Carr: http://www.mcmaster.com/.
