I just wanted to mention that on Jan 30-31 2009 the Philadelphia Furniture Workshop is having a “Connect to the Craft” Open House.
With one exception the demonstrator list is impressive with some of the top people around like Adam Cherubini, Bill Grumbine, and Mario Rodriguez just to name a few. There will be both continuous demonstations all day and some scheduled stuff too.
It’s free and it’s a chance to see some great woodworking, and also see what the school has to offer (best equipped school on the east coast).
I know about the show because we are exhibitors and I’m the weak link exception of the demonstrators. I will be teaching honing and sharpening and freehand grinding as written about in the June 2008 FWW.
For more information, full demonstrator and exhibitor lists, schedules check out:

Joel,
You are far too modest. I have seen your video and read your article in FWW and am looking forward to picking up some pointers from you when I go to the open house at the Philadelphia Furniture Workshop.
When I was looking to ramp up my skills with veneering, turning and hand tool joinery techniques I went to PFW for instruction. What a great place! Alan Turner and Marion Rodriguez are not only extremely talented craftsmen, they are generous and genuine in sharing their knowledge.
To anyone who can get there, I would highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity to visit a great shop and get some insight from some very fine people.
Frank
