Hey,
Coarse thread screws would be best but the screws you're going to use should hold. Baltic birch has more layers than usual plywood making for better hold for screws. My experience says they'll hold, unless the hinge is yanked on forcefully & repeatedly.
Eventually normal wear 'n tear will loosen the screws but that'd happen in solid wood, too. Wouldn't hurt to dip the threads in glue first.

I've never had piano hinges rip out of BB ply.
Honestly, though, I've never had them rip our of regular plywood either.
Thanks for the replies
Is it home center birch plywood, or Batic birch plywood? There is a huge difference in quality. I've had a lot of screws rip out of the bigbox store stuff. Baltic birch is far superior.
Proper per-drilling will go a long way in making screws hold on tight, I always try out a few hole sizes 1/64 ‘´ appart until I find the correct one for a given material and screw.
Screwed into edges - I wouldn't be so confident. Personally I would attach a solid wood strip.
Depends on how much lid is opened and who's opening it.
