Hello Everyone, I am seeing advice on what to use to fill pin nail holes in aromatic red cedar. I have tried using sawdust and glue to fill these holes but am looking for something less messy. Messy meaning less cleanup. Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Have you considered . . .
. . . nano plug cutters? ;-)
The holes left by pins are pretty small, so sawdust is often too coarse to fit inside the holes. Sanding dust from moderately fine-grit sanding with thinned glue, or thinned wood putty might work better. In both cases, the filling needs to be done after any stain is applied. In other words, think about how you'll be finishing the piece before applying any filler. Then, there is also the question of whether the tiny holes need to be filled at all.
