I used West System epoxy To fill cracks in a large black walnut slab to be used as a table top. In spite of using heat gun to pop bubbles after sanding a number of pinholes and voids became apparent. After reapplying epoxy and resanding pinholes are still there. Any suggestions?

I use the West System too. I find that if I use a small piece of wood to get the bubbles to rise that helps eliminate gaps. After I sand I use 5-min epoxy to fill the remaining small bubbles.
