Wow.
What did you dissolve the dye in? Was any other surface preparation on the wood? Have you tried the dye on anything else? What color is it in the bottle, in solution?

Don't ever learn anything new. Rather than give you satisfaction that you know more than you did, it will only confirm you know less than you thought by opening horizons to things of which you had never dreamt and which you now must explore.
it was mixed with water and 10 grams of dye i sanded planed and scraped . nothing else was on the wood.
What color does it dye other substances? Other woods? Paper?

I dont know i will have to wait and try it on paper tomorrow in class. mybe I cut it too thin and thats why it turned pink.
SNevitt,
When you made up your stock solution of the dye, did you use the entire contents of the bottle? Often dyes are a combination of dry compounds with differing densities, and settling occurs in the bottle. If you just used a little off the top, you may have inadvertantly selected the pink compounds.
When I use dyes, I generally use the entire bottle to make up a concentrated stock solution in a poly sqeeze bottle. Then when I need some, I make up a blended working dillution in a separate container, like a yogurt container.

Is it still bright pink after topcoating? If you haven't applied the finish yet, the color will surely change yet again after you do. This color will depend on the type of finish you apply.
You will need to do some experimenting and you should be doing them on scraps. Try using a green dye over your pink wood and see if that helps. You may have to try different concentrations to get to the color you want.
