Has anyone tried the Pinnacle Bench Chisels? Would you recommend them? How do they compare to other brands? e.g.–Hirsch or Two Cherries?

Take a look at these Grizzly http://www.grizzly.com/products/H7755 I just got a set and I think there the same as the Pinnacle. They are good so far the rosewood handles are nice a hard. I would hone them.
I just got an 8 piece set. The handles are well finished something that might be cherry. They are socket handles and fit well, nicely let in. The handles would not be of a category like a firmer- No end ring but I have not struck them yet so I don't know how the ends will hold up.
I honed and lapped the backs- To mirror surface for the first inch or so using 400 wet/dry paper, 600 wet/dry paper on plate glass using water. Then the 800 Japanese wetstone and 1200 wetstone The backs weren't that bad to begin with.
The primary bevel came set at 25 degrees, which I left at 25 degrees honing the bevel with the 600 paper using my Mark II Lee/Veritas sharpener gauge. The blade end was quite square. I rotated the cam to give me a 2 degree or so secondary bevel. I finished the secondary bevel off with 1200 wet/dry paper on plate glass w/water for two minutes.
I don't know how hard the steel is but I am guessing around 59-61 on the scale based on the work it took to get the backs flat. I used my loupe to take a look at the edge and didn't see any crystalization. Once again I can't say this will remain so after I give them a workout.
Based on the price I paid I am pleased so far. I will provide an update a couple of weeks down the road after I give 'em a workout.

When my local Woodcraft store had the Pinnicles on sale, I was looking to upgrade from my Marples, but the manager just looked at me and said, "Keep your Marples." I decided to upgrade to a set of Ashley Isles chisels.
Thanks for passing along the info. His response says a lot.
I purchased the set of eight Pinnacle Bench Chisels from Woodcraft and they work great. I have been using them on Oak and all I have done is used leather strops keep them sharp. I don’t have anything to compare them to because my last “set” were some hardware store <!----><!----><!---->Stanleys<!----><!----> that got carried out to the garage and used on car engines. It is amazing what crusty bolt on an exhaust system will to for a wood chisel. The description says they are hardened to 58 to 60 Rc and should be honed before use. I picked them up for $49 while they were on sale but even at $79 I think they are a good deal. There may be better chisels out there but for the money these work well for me.
