Got this in the mail today:
“Re: 05P2601 #4 Smooth Plane, A2 Blade
Dear Customer,

The price of the above-noted product has been reduced. In keeping with our guidelines on price reduction, and in light of your recent purchase of this item, we are enclosing a refund for the difference in price plus applicable taxes.
Sincerely, Lee Valley Tools Ltd.”
I bought the darn thing over a month ago, and they mailed it free of charge because the local store was out of stock. Guess where I’ll be spending the twenty bucks? Though I don’t think it’ll go towards a limited edition Stainless Steel Edge Plane with individual number. Like buying a Bugatti and putting it on blocks.

That's very nice they would do that.. it gives buyers peace of mind...I'm considering buying their medium shoulder plane within the next couple of months...I'll be glad to give compainies like that my money.
Yep, that's Lee Valley for ya! A model for the rest of the business world to aspire to, customer-service-wise. This isn't the first time they've done a retroactive price-revision, IIRC. And.....there was another incident awhile back where they found out a product (a rule, methinks??) wasn't up to snuff, and they simply mailed out new ones to everyone who'd purchased the sub-par one.
Major kudos.
Wonder if Apple will be doing that with the iPhone?
no kidding!! that $200 iPhone price cut 10 weeks after it's initial launch is a joke.
FG,
It's the cold weather up there. It forces people to be nicer.
Businesses, too. LV does a great job.

WOW!
I've always liked Lee Valley for a multitude of reasons. Thanks for adding one more great reason to keep shopping with them.
