Aside from ordering a new v-belt ($20) from Delta for a 22-560 12 1/2″ planer, does anyone have an idea as to where a cheaper one can be located? It looks like a belt you might find on a lawnmower or something similar and I would hate to spend $20 on something I might find cheaper.

Power transmission in your local yellow pages should yield a source. http://www1.mscdirect.com , http://www.mcmaster.com would be another. You have to identify the type...is it 4L, B, C? They have charts and don't be afraid to call their tech support line to help identify your belt more specifically. Take some mesurements on the pulley such as the width at the top of the inside of the V groove.

Rick's advice sounds right.
I usually start by taking the broken belt to the nearest auto parts store and asking, "Do you have one of these?"

Same thing just happened to me. Delta will be glad to charge you $20 for a new belt, and they'll add another $10 just to ship it to you.
I checked an O'Reilly auto parts store, nothing that small.
Amazon has them for 15.50, but will take 1-2 weeks to ship. I don't know about you, but I didn't want to take two weeks off from my project.
I found this website Toolsforless.Com. They had part number 22-563 at my door in two days (Priority Mail with tracking number) for $21.
That was the first time I ordered anything from this company, but I would definitely do it again.

I would highly suggest going to a -good- auto parts store (napa, tiger, etc...) the ones that pro's use... and getting a gates or similar quality belt.
They can likely match one up very, very close.
I personally use link belts on my jointer though.
Cheers,
Michael
You should ask for a fractional power belt. This is not the same as automotive which may be stiffer and waste power.
tobias,
Go to an auto parts store with the old one in your hand and ask.. If they don't have one go to a industrial supply house with the old one in your hand. if they don't have one ask them who would..
Thanks to all. I'll let everyone know what I find.
