I am teaching woodshop at a high school. The planer is an 1970’s Powermatic with the “Quiet” cutterhead. It has 36 (that’s not a typo) individual knives. They are just over 2″ long. Will a Planer Pal hold them this short? Will any other jigs? It won’t be a quiet cutterhead when it is dull so I am looking for a way to set that many knives quickly, relatively that is, and accurately- Todd

Powermatic undoubtedly made a jig to set the knives, I'd check with them first. The jig is probably sitting in a drawer somewhere in the shop, since it would have come with the machine. The other possibility is that the knives are self adjusting and disposable.
