I’ve just gotten a new Delta 22-580 planer and am considering building a table, instead of buying one. However, I’m uncertain of the best height. I’m 5’9″. My old jointer (with stand) has its outfeed table at 43″. The prior owner must have been pretty tall. I’d appreciate you experienced folks sharing your preferences for the best height for the table that my planer would sit on.
I’d also appreciate a design for a dust collection hood for an old Craftsman radial arm saw.
Thanks,
Morty

I don't know how the thickness gauge on that planer is set up, but on my 12.5" Delta planer, it's on the front and I have to stoop real low to see it well. If your gauge is on the front, that's what I'd suggest focusing on (so-to-speak) when designing your stand.
