Will appreciate comments from all designers, regarding aesthetics and functionality.
This is an entertainment center, for a 62″ HDTV, the piece will be 8′ high and 10′ in width. I have done the design in SolidWorks, top to bottom, meaning all the parts are included in the drawing and it can be broken down to component level, with a drawing for each part. I have left out unnecessary details such as handle hardware and repetitive detail, such as the slats repeating behind the side cabinets and on the gable top.
The piece will be in components which can be assembled where it will permanently reside.
When one has spent the time on such a design, it is difficult to maintain a realistic perception of how good the aesthetics are, so any comments will be appreciated.
I have used the golden ratio in a few places, but the TV size dictated quite a few details.
Thanks for any input.

My first impression is that the TV sits too low. Is this for a plasma, DLP, or rear projection?
Have you allowed for components? Surround speakers?
No backer in the side units?
Craig,
Thanks for taking the time to look.
This is for a Sony 62" HDTV, I believe it's rear projection.
The height of the TV was based on Sony's optional TV stand, which is the same height, I'm not sure if there is a magic formula?
Components will go in the top rack, no surround speakers required.
Backer will be in the side units, I got lazy and indicated only one slat on the drawing right side, as it provides enough details to manufacture.

food for thought, I find that the customers tend to like the TV a bit higher than normal on the larger TV's. I forget offhand the recommended height for viewing at the center of the screen, but in my designs, the clients usually prefer them raised for better viewing from other areas. If I recall, it usually comes out to be about 4" higher than the standard for that size of screen. I typically suggest making a cutout or template and hold it at the height that is comfortable for them to look at from all areas of the room. I take my measurements from that & design around it.
Nice design, by the way. I'd like to see finished photos after the install.
