Greetings,
I was asked to make a dog crate similar to the one attached here. As I suspected, there are no dog crate plans galore around. I did find the plans on FWW for the Prairie Settle by Kevin Rodel, where it shows nice plans for the slats and the leg (corner) posts. Any other ideas? I plan on making this from cherry, using 1/4 inch cherry panels for the sides, if available. Thanks.

Looks like a fairly straightforward project. You could probably doodle something up fairly quickly and easily. Or, figure out how big it needs to be and let me know. I imagine I could bang something out.
Thanks Dave, I appreciate your generous offer. the crate will be about 24"H x 30"L x 21"W, big enough to fit dogs up to 30 lbs. I've briefly tried to use Sketchup, but had no sucess - I guess I better read the manual :-) and I thought I was computer savvy!!Thanks again for your help - maybe this will get me off my keaster and inspires me to learn this program. Do they make a version for the Mac?Thanks, Tony
Tony, I'll get you started anyway.
Send me an e-mail with your e-mail address and I'll send you a SketchUp file when I have it. Probably won't be until later this evening.
Dave
poor dog. what did he do? or is that for when the plumber comes to the house?
The plumber? I thought it was the cable guy!! Maybe that's why she wants that crate so fast - the cable guy has been workin on that "receiver" a lot lately :-)ATOMA
Is this close?

Wow!! This is perfect - shadows and all. Actually, there will not be a door. Also, I would raise the blind panels and shorten the slats a little so that when the dog is laying down, it could not see out and get distracted/frightened. Thanks again, Dave, this is great. Now I am inspired :-)Tony
Tony, I just sent you the SKP file via e-mail.
I can't see why you need plans for that job.
Get hold of Fido , check out his characteristics , measure him up , ask what options he requires (such as cat quarters, hot and cold running water, auto bone dispenser etc) and make up a custom fitted job.(;)
The dog in the original posters picture looks really confused. As if he has no idea what he did to deserve jail time. (grin) "I was framed by the #$%& cat!"

Now?where is the cat's crate?
I believe the original was owned by W. C. Fields, and used for children, not dogs. ;-)
