Having seen a variety of freestanding cabinets patterned after James Krenov designs in Fine Woodworking magazine, has anyone seen any plans for that style of cabinet? I would like to construct one, but wonder if I might be able to find a plan from which to work. Got any ideas or sources?

i think asking for plans for a krenov cabinet just won't work - the pieces seem to grow and change as they are crafted. but reading his books will give you a sense of design.

Start with the curved doors and build the cabinet and stand to fit.
There are no "step-by-step" plans for Krenov cabinet-on-stand pieces.
Building fine furniture by glen huey has a Krenov inspired piece you're looking for. franky
Krenov and plans just do not go together. Start cutting and and see where you end up!
Hi Dave,
Krenov's books do not offer plans, but they do give dimensions of several of the pieces. In some of the chapters, he even goes through his steps in how he made them. No plans, but some drawings. You might want to check out your local library or perhaps a Woodcraft store so that you can look through the books before you buy so that you get the one you want.
