Can anyone help me? I am after plans, books, or instructions on how to make upholstery frames for sofa, armchairs etc, etc.. I have searched the web, looked in bookshops (as well as on line ones) and have found nothing obvious that can help. There’s plenty on how to upholster but it would appear nothing on how to make the frames. It seems to be a well kept secret!
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!

Try: Reproducing Antique Furniture, by Franklin H. Gottshall, p. 216, "Chippendale Upholstered Wing Chair". Years ago I bought a plan for a camel back sofa drawn by Carlyle Lynch. Write to Carlyle Lynch, POB 13007, Arlington, TX 76094. (817) 861-1619 for Lynch plans. Try: Upholstery Techniques & Projects, by David James, which shows frames, but no measured drawing. Frames for upholstered chairs are not that different from non-upholstered chairs. There are lower rails for attaching webbing, but everything else is essentially the same. Your can use the Gottshall and Lynch plans for the general concept, and then adapt to made your own design.
*P.S. There is a plan for a wing chair in Norman Vandal's book "Queen Anne Furniture" published by Taunton Press. How to upholster the chair is not covered. The Gottshall book does cover the steps on upholstering his wing chair.
