Hello-
I’m a newbie on this site, live in the Fairfax VA area and am a member of the Washington Woodworker’s Guild. Sort of new to serious woodworking, as well.
I thought some of you might know where I can find plans, or pictures, or design particulars for a wet-bar the LOML insists is so important to our health and well-being. The guys at Woodcraft say there is a book or so out, but I can’t find it anywhere on the web, nor can I Google anything on “wet-bars,” if that is even the term to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Jack

Vajack, I do many bars. Is there anything particular you are looking for? I may be able to help you.

Lou-Thanks for responding. Quite by accident, I remembered that Rockler sold some bar hardware, etc., and found that it has plans for a rather basic bar which could, at least, show me the nature of the framing. What I have in mind is cherry framing and trim with veneered birdseye maple flat panels and top. I would need only shelves underneath the back, as there is already a sink and cabinet on the side of the wall which I can overlay with veneer and build new doors and drawer-fronts to match. I can also use casters to move the bar forward and back into the recess in the room and clear of the existing cabinets and sink (which would be on the left side of that recess). There is about 6' or 7' of width possible, so I am thinking of a semi-circular configuration or a shorter front with 45 degree wings all of about the same width. The elbow rest for the top may come, or can be milled, with a radius, but I haven't the foggiest idea from where. The straight stuff is all I have ever seen and it can be mitred and glued up, I suppose, then shaped.I haven't commenced drawings, as I wanted to see how the internal part of professional plans looked, but could do a sketch if that would be helpful to you in deciphering the above. You are very kind to offer me some help. Jack
Jack, I would say the radius bar rail will be pretty pricey. I would locate that first.Hate to say it but you'll Then have to build it from that. Try Bossen Millwork In NJ. They are a little cockey, But can get the job done. They Have Chicago bar rail and do alot of radius work, maybe they will have some radius's your looking for.
Good luck, Lou
Lou-Thanks for the info. I got a price this morning, but only for 12" radius (their stocked item) and will have to catch the majordomo maybe tomorrow for other sizes, which would be custom. Anyway, yes, it is expensive but not way out of line when compared to the time it would take to do it by hand. You have been most helpful and I appreciate it very much.Jack
