I am going to purchase a plate joiner probably either the Porter Cable or Dewalt, who has pros and or cons?
Thanks

I own a DeWalt and like it. But, if I had to replace it, I think I'd go with the PC. More personal preference than actual advantage of one over the other.
I've got the 557. It has too much slop for me. wish I'd gotten the Lamello or Makita. Wanna buy mine? :)
I have the PC and really like it. I was doing job making new kitchen cabinet doors and liked using the mini biscuit on the PC for the corner joints (customer did not want the extra expense of router/shaper cut profiles or stub tenons - wanted it qiuck and dirty)
I have the PC and like it. It does a good job. I have not had the opportunity to push at all, just simple stuff. I did use it to cut FF for a face frame, and the only complaint I had was the manual was not that clear on how to swap the smaller cutter out. But once, I had it figured out, no problems. The dust extraction is good. I have never used the dewalt, so I cannot speak to that brand. If I had to do it over, I would buy the PC again.
I have the Dewalt and it has been a good tool, in the reviews in FW they talked about the blade not being parallel to the base but a few issues later they showed how that can be ajusted. Anyway mine works fine.
Good luck
Troy
I have the PC and it works great. I just gave it a workout today with no problems. Glued up a desk top of 5/4 oak, seven joints with 7 biscuits each. This is 98 slots that had to be cut. I used the #20 biscuits and the top came out nice and flat.

Well I have the Dewalt and the only problem I have is the shute keeps cloging. Then I need to stop and clear the small oppening. If I hook it up to one of my shop vacs wthis helps. The biggest vac which has more power and suction does the best job. I have not used the Porter Cable but that would be my second choice.
Have the same problem with my Dewalt. I think it is the post they put in there to keep you from putting your fingers in there. I am tempted to cut it out since I don't put mine in there:) Troy
I considered the DW & PC. Finally decided on the PC until I found a used Lamello Classic on Ebay. It was a little more than the new PC, but it's very precise.
