Hey Guys;
I am in need of an at least 1″ countersink bit, and a 1″ tapered plug cutter. Can anyone tell me where to go. That is where to go to find them.
Thanks again
Doc.

http://www.wlfuller.com/brands.html definitely has them as should Lee Valley. Start collecting catalogs. You should look at the links site at the home page. The links page at http://www.woodcentral.com is especially good.
Not sure of the size but Lee Valley has a very nice tapered plug cutter; I have used several sizes and they are really nice. They taper on the sides rather than the typical parallel sided plug.
Lee Valley has a 1" plug cutter, but it isn't tapered. http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=1&p=42292&cat=1,180,42288
As far as a countersink goes- I think you just mean a counterbore- for which you are going to have to do in two steps- 1st cut with a 1" brad point or forstner, then the 2nd hole to whatever size.
Whatever would you need 1" sizes for?The older I get, the better I was....
Check again. It is called the Veritas Snug Plug or something similar.
Tapered plugs are only available in smaller sizes.
http://www.wlfuller.com is one of the top drill bit companies for commercial use and they are pretty much the same for sizes. I do purchasing for a commercial company and start with Lee Valley for basic needs. Good prices and the quality is up there even if the stuff is made in China.
Hey Rick
Thanks for the web site of fuller, I have sent off for a catalog. You are right they do have a lot of cutter drills etc.
Thanks bud

I know- I have a full set, metric and imperial. But they max out at 1/2"The older I get, the better I was....
I stand corrected; I had never needed anything larger than what they offered. Thanks!
Thanks for the Lee Valley web site, that looks like something I might be able to use. As to why I need something that large, I make furniture both inside and Pattio type. Some of the swings have a 1" whole and as with all of my stuff I go the extra mile to plug and sand ALL areas, just one of the downfalls of a perfectionist.
Thanks again for the web site
