Awhile back I posted about getting a BenchDog Cast Iron router table..

Somebody posted something like….

Are you going to use a router lift?..

I replied…

I have had table routers as long as I can remember.. Always shop built tables…For some reason I never have got around to use a router lift….

BIG MISTAKE! Should have done this LONG AGO!

I saw a JessEm RoutRLift FX on sale at my local Rockler..  I know.. Some stuff over-priced   … BUT I like it there…

I was lookin’ around and wandered over by the router tables on display… And there it was on sale… Dang…. 

I said to myself.. Self… It’s almost Fathers Day.. and I’m a father… So…. I think the bank still has a few dollars … AND.. If I only eat 1 meal a day for several weeks… I could afford that!.. Besides.. I have that PC router I hardly ever use that needs a home.

Well, to make a long story short. I got it!

I got me a small glass of Jack Daniels and took that box out to the ‘so called shop’. Took a few sips… and took my old Ryobi hanging on that BenchDog plate and took it out.. Dand….. Tha hole is bigger en’ my new JessEm plate!  Geeeee…

After some thinkin’, I remembered that I still have a router table there if I put it back and I only had a few sips’ so I should be able to pull this off if I try hard…

Well, about two hours later I had my adapter plate! Just MDF fer’ now but SOMEDAY I’ll get around to using that hunk of aluminum I got there in the corner fer a ‘good’ one… I think it’s about the right thickness?

Anyway.. It works GREAT… AND the JessEm RoutRLift works GREAT too!

It is MORE that well made.. Gee.. them Canadians make much better TOOLS than Whiskey…

For the money I paid for it I received at least double the value… Hard to beat that! I have paid ALOT more for ALOT less.

Thanks JessEm and the Canadian workers that made it!.. Well, it did have stamped on it.. MADE IN CANADA!

Now back to my glass of Jack and thinkin’ of what I’ll use it for!
