When I crank the blade on my PM66 over to 45°, it goes out of parallel with the miter slot. If I readjust the table when it’s at 45°, it’s misaligned at 90° by 1/8″ from the front of the blade to the back. Is this something I can fix, and how do I do it?

It sounds to me like you need to shim up the front or back of your table top. It's been ten years since I've had the hood up on my 66 but I don't think it's tough. It's either two bolts in front and one in the back or four bolts total with two front and two back. Sorry, it's late.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't understand what difference doing that would make. Aren't all the guts attached to the cabinet?ne sutor ultra crepidam
"Aren't all the guts attached to the cabinet?"That's right, they are. So by shimming the top, you're changing the relationship of the blade to the top front to back. When the blade is at 90 degrees it really doesn't matter, but when the blade is tilted over it changes the relationship to the miter slots front to back if the top is not level in relation to the trunnion assembly. If the blade moves away from the slot at the front when tilted, then the top needs to be raised in the front (shimmed) to reduce the distance to the slot and the back needs to be shimmed up if the blade moves away from the slot at the back of the blade. Think of it this way, the top has to be the same distance from the two pivot points on the trunnion assembly, if not then you'll get the problem you're having. I hope at least some of this was clear, it's very hard to write what could be shown in person very quickly. Maybe someone else could be clearer than me.
