I am investigating pocket door hardware systems and would welcome anyones input in what you’ve worked with–likes and dislikes. Major points are sag minimization, ease of installation, and smoothness.
Door sizes and weight are typical of armoirs’.
Thanks.

I have used accuride systems for large doors that have a cable to keep the doors from sagging. Worked very well for me and not overly complex to set up.

I like the Accuride 123 series for smaller doors, no cables to mess with as the uppers and lowers are connected with a piece of 3/4 ply or what have you. On bigger doors I've used KV and Hafelle and liked them both. On really big doors (to conceal a 50" projection TV) the rack and pinion type sold by Rockler are the bomb. They're made by Schock (sp?) and you can special order the rack gear in extra long lengths so that 30"+ wide doors can be completely contained in the pockets when opened.

I prefer the Accuride "cable type" over most other brands and Hafelle does have some good ones for real heavy doors. One of the reasons I like Accuride is that you gan get it to use with any brand of hinge (Blum, Grass, Hetitch, etc). I personally use the 'thick door, clip-on hinge" from Blum and a inset hinge mounting plate that matches my needs.
The trick to these retractable doors is that EVERYTHING IS SQUARE. The cabinet carcase, the cabinet opening, and the door. Make sure the hardware is installed square too and the proper hole size (usually 35mm) is drilled for the door.
