For 5/4 stock, dressed and finished at 1″ thickness, and using a Kreg jig, would you use the stop for 3/4″ material, and the 1-1/2″ screws?
I just ordered the K2000, already have the Rocket, and I think that the stop for 1-1/2 to 2 thickness material, plus use of the 2-1/2″ screws, would put my entry-into-other-side hole too far over, and the screw would poke through.

I have one of the original Kreg jigs, and all I have ever used is 1 1/4" screws.
My bit has a collar stop that can be adjusted for drilling depth (through the jig).
Don't they use a collar any longer?

If its not too late, you might want to cancel that kreg order and get the new K3 jig. They made several improvements that I think are worth the extra $, the new one is $150. I had one pre ordered from amazon then those SOB's cancelled it saying they were delayed. The people at kreg said their was a little delay in shipping but woodcraft, rockler and the amazon idiots should be getting them in a week or two.

why not just practice on 1" scrap?
