Our group of friends that gets together to play cards uses homemade tables. A fellow knothead is the ringleader of the construction. Collectively "we" (mostly he) have built 4 poker tables. They include cork bottom cup holders, custom chip racks, and padded removable felted tops. Our tables sit on top of an existing table and are removed when not in use. Attached is a picture of the last table we built and sold. The table isn't in that room usually which is why the stain doesn't match the chairs. (The guy who bought the table wanted stain to match furniture in a different room, but that is just where we delivered it to.) Since the plan is not mine, I'll leave it up to my friend to discuss how the table is built because its his plan, and I would most likely leave out information or possibly give you false information.
It is definately more fun playing poker on a table that you built than a boring dining room table!
