Hello All!
I have a Leigh D4 Jig already, but as my jig didn’t come with the correct dovetail bit for doing both half-blind and through dovetails, I’m looking for a smaller jig that will allow me to do both through and half-blind, but also sets up quickly and is more portable than the D4. I would like to leave my big D4 in the shop and take a smaller dovetail – 12″ – with me as I do a number of cabinet projects on site.
Looking for feedback ASAP!
Thanks,
Mike

Recently I walked into a Woodcraft demo of the Akeda (although I wanted the Leigh) and bought the Akeda. Of course it is 16"(not 12") and I really like it because I am just a hobbiest and it seems simple enough for me. If 16" is not too big for you, you might give it a look.
I've only done a couple of pieces with my PC 4212, but so far, so good. It wasn't too bad to set up. It made nice dovetails. I would recommend it, so far.
Tim
