Having difficulties removing the blade retaining bolt to change blades, already broken 1 allen wrench. Never had any problems whatsever prior to this.

According to the 557's manual the thread of the retaining bolt is a conventional right hand thread that should loosen by being turned counter-clockwise.
If the bolt is frozen in place, and the hex hole is chewed up, the only option left would be to use a Dremel type tool with a reinforced abrasive disc to cut a screw slot into the flat head bolt. Seat the screwdriver bit into the slot you cut and give the handle end of the screwdriver a few hard raps with a mallet or small hammer. The blows will seat the blade tightly in the slot and will often break free a seized bolt, as will the heat generated by cutting the slot.
