Porter-Cable PCB 375 SS is surging please help!!
Hi there I have a porter cable scroll saw that I just bought used and now it is surging. the motor goes fast and then slows down sometimes stopping and then starts back up and goes for a second or two then slows down again when it started it
was just now and then but now it’s all the time. Anyone have any idea I would appreciate anything I could learn about this saw and this problem thank you

Does it do this in all variable speed control positions? If it is stable at some speeds and not at others the control may be fouled. Other things I would check would be my power source. Plug a regular incandescent light fixture into the power outlet (or use a meter if you are familiar with that method) and see if the power is stable (no light intensity or voltage wavering). Let's get those two out of the way and then we can move on.
Yes it is doing it in all positions of the variable speed control also I have checked the output of the power source and it is steady I also tried plugging it in different places and it's still doing the same thing
OK, so we’ve got good power and presumably it is not the control itself. We now have to look at the circuitry that the control, well, controls.
Does the parts blow up in the manual show some sort of a control board? That is, I’m assuming the control is not simply a rheostat or potentiometer.
