Curtis, once you've clicked "Reply" and you've brought up the text-entry box, headed by "From," "To," etc., type in your message as you normally do. Then, rather than clicking "Post" at the top of the screen, scroll down to the bottom of the page, to the Line of Buttons that has Post, Preview, Spell Check, Attach Files and Cancel all in a row.
Click the "Attach Files" button. A new window will open up that starts with "Upload a file for attachment to the message," followed by three steps. First, use the browse button to find the file on your own computer (this launches a small window that you use to navigate your computer and identify the file you want). Once you've clicked on the filename, hit the Open File button... that will close the little window and you'll be back to the "Upload file..." window and you'll see the file you chose in the text box.
Click upload and wait a moment or two... you'll soon see the file you chose at the top of the "Upload a file..." window, in purple font with the size of the file given. You can now click "Done" or keep repeating steps one and two to load up more pics. Once you've clicked "Done" the "UPload a file..." window will go away and you'll be back to your regular "Reply" window. You won't necessarily see anything that indicates that your files were uploaded. Keep typing your reply, and when you're finished you can now hit "Post."
Voila! Check your message and see if your pics posted.

Thank you for responding!
That's seems to be a problem, however. There is no "attachments" button, but there is the "post/preview/spell check/cancel" buttons. Would there be a reason that everyone else would have the "attachment" button and that I would not? Maybe because I am a newer member?
Thanks Again!
There are two "views" here at Knots, "Basic" and "Advanced." You need to be in Advanced View to see the Attachments button. I think you'll find that choice at the bottom of the right-hand frame when you're logged into Knots.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
PS, after you've written your post and submitted it, it may take awhile for it to show up in the thread (for a reply) or as a new thread. I've noticed over the last several days that it can be taking a very long time, so we're getting a few messages posted twice, when the author thinks the first one didn't take I suppose.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Hmmmm, IIRC, all I did was to copy the picture from another website, and then past the picture into my post before posting it to the thread here.

Just like this!
Yes, Ed, that's how you do it if you want to copy an open pic (on a website or on your computer) directly into a post. However, if you want to upload an attachment that is not open (this also includes non-pic documents such as Word files, etc.), you need to go through the longer process... I believe.
FG, thanks for knowing the difference between Basic and Advanced!

Thank you very much for the help. Nice pic by the way!
Actually, a pretty amazing result. I used an Olympus digital aimed thru a B&L monoculer type of telescope (half a binocular). There were more than a few that weren't worth printing, LOL.
Ed, oh boy, now you've got me! I love hummingbirds, and miss them greatly this time of year, as they've pretty much deserted us here on the island by the middle or end of August. Theoretically, we have year-'round residents in the Puget Sounds, but they must be over on the mainland somewhere. Great picture!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
