Hi Folks,
Sorry for re-posting a question that has probably been covered 100 times. I recently bought a 1969 Powermatic 66 table saw and am in the process of refurbishing it. The motor drive and arbor pulleys are out of alignment by 0.25.” It looks as though there is no room for adjustment on the arbor pulley (at least not in the direction I need to go), and I can’t tell whether there is much room on the motor pulley either. Should I just risk the hernia, pull the motor off, and see if I can move the pulley further onto the shaft? Or should I shim the motor to achieve the adjustment?
Thanks,
Chris

Typically the arbor pulley is fixed by spacers so adjusting the motor pulley is the way to go.
Thanks Rick - Seems like this follows the typical rule that the most difficult solution is the correct one!
On my '85 PM66 the arbor pulley can be adjusted for perfect alignment. Move the pulley after aligning the arbor bearing cartridge with the throat plate. No need to shim the c-flange motor mount.DJK
