Hello All,
I recently picked up this saw (twice actually-once for $300 and the second time from my new driveway where it fell off of the lift gate). The bandsaw made it through with only a broken trunnion and a dry gear box. Yes my driveway has that much sought after patina now from the gear lube. My question is how do I go about replacing the gear lube? Where? Quantity? What type? etc.. Also the saw currently has guides that are set up for metal cutting but I will primarily be using this saw for cutting wood (80% resaw/20 scroll cutting). Any recommendations on new guides? I am very much looking forward to having this machine up and running. Aside from the belly flop injuries it is in very good condition.
Thanks,
Tom

Wow! What a piece of machinery I downloaded the manual and was going to attach it to this post but it's awfully large.
Here is a link to the manual.

Looks like 3 quarts of Mobil Vactra No. 1.
The manual has all the other lube points also. Don't forget to lube the onboard compressor.
I would try the existing guides, I didn't see anything in the pictures that would preclude it from woodworking.
I'm jealous! what a beast!

dgreen,
Thanks for the link. This machine is easily my biggest tool gloat yet. I have picked up a few great bargains in my day but never a $2k saw for $300. It will be a welcome addition to my shop.
Thanks,
Tom
