Powermatic Jointer – Outfeed Table Issue
I have a Powermatic 60HH. Out of the box, the outfeed table is not co-planar with the top of the cutterhead. The fence side of the outfeed table is lower than the operator side, and if I try to face joint a flat piece of wood, it gets caught at the edge of the outfeed table (see attached pic).
I think the solution is to adjust the gib screws on the side of the outfeed table. Has anyone had experience with this though? Any suggestions are welcome.

Looks like edge of the fence is to far over.
Thanks for the suggestion. I should have mentioned- when I move the fence closer in, I'm still having the same issue.
If you move the fence all the way within one inch of the operator side do you get the same issue ? The first table adjustment is to use a straightedge on the out feed table that hangs over the cutterhead and rotate manually the cutterhead so the straightedge just barely touches the cutters, this is done at both ends of the cutterhead and the straightedge should move the same amount when placed at both ends.
Here’s a good deep dive into tuning and adjusting jointer tables. Lots of detail on the jib screws.

I second using John White's guidelines.
I highly recommend building the test bars to help with setup. I did. It helped immeasurably.
Matt Wajda also has an excellent video on jointer tune-up including how to get the beds coplanar.
