Are any of you using this saw. Any feedback on dust collection would be well appreciated.
Thanks, JW

I have the PM 2000 which is a very similar saw. There is a shroud inside that surrounds the blade and hose connected to the dust port in the back of the machine. From some light reading on the Powermatic website it sounds like the 1000 has this also. While the dust collection was good, I never thought of it as much better than other saws. I use a 3hp dust collector and there is still a fair amount of dust that built up in the bottom of the cabinet.
After reading an article in FWW (I think this is the one: https://www.finewoodworking.com/2009/05/01/dust-proof-any-tablesaw) I removed the hose (left the shroud) and started making improvements from the article. I'm not finished so there is still room for improvement. I think the biggest impact would be adding overhead dust collection to the blade guard (or creating a custom guard that has dust collection). Regardless of what I have done to the cabinet, my saw sprays dust at me from the top. I think overhead dust collection would greatly improve overall collection on any saw.
Thanks Max you were very helpful. Have a nice day.

I have the pm1000 and a harbor freight dc. The dust collection is adequate. I probably need to vacuum the inside of the cabinet, but it would be the 2nd time I've done so in the last year since I bought the saw. Definitely not something I'd complain about. I think the manual says it needs a collector at least capable of 600 or 650 cfm
Thanks for your reply. How much do you use your saw?
Thanks for the reply.
I'd say probably have it on and in use about 30 minutes a week. Once my kids are older it will be a lot more :)
