i just bought the powermatic 14″ bandsaw with the riser block. i am putting it together today and i would like to know if powermatic has resolved the alignment pins issue with the riser blocks? the stock number on my riser block is 1791217. if anyone knows this information would be very helpful for me.

Powermatic/Jet riser blocks. I had the same problem with my jet. I resolved it by removing the pins. Snugged up the bolt and used a dead blow mallet to align it and then tightened the bolt. Unit has stayed in alignment without the pins.

Just did one a couple of weeks ago. Wasnt aware of a previous issue. It was a snug fit, but it fit, and fit correctly. Thats a nice little upgrade for what's already a fairly nice little bandsaw.
I cussed a little at getting the wires and air hose out of the way, but it can be done. Sure helps to have another pair of paws around for a couple of minutes.

I had no problems with the pins fitting into the holes, the problem was that riser threw the wheeles out of true with each other.Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

yep, my wheels are slightly out now. when the blade is tracked correctly on the top it's a bit forward on the bottom wheel. the good news is that the saw is finally all assembled and even with the stock blade it cut's beautifully so far. it even cuts straight riding along the fence. i'm very pleasently surprised. i haven't re-sawn anything over 4 inches yet, but i'm hoping for the best. my timberwolf blades just arrived today. thanks for the input.

Your probably going to have to get rid of the pins completely, as I did, to get the wheels co-planing. All you need is a good straight edge, rubber deadblow hammer and some patients.Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!
