G’day all. I bought a Powermatic PM 2000 table saw at auction in Australia last year. It still had the plastic on the table, came with the fence, but was missing “Box #2” which contained the rails and mounting hardware. I contacted the sole seller of Powermatic in Australia (Carbatec) and they said they don’t sell that saw anymore and could only get parts when they imported a container load. I contacted Powermatic online and was geo-redirected to the Chinese subsidiary who said they can’t help, call Carbatec. Every aftermarket fence system in Australia is “out of stock”. Shipping two 50″ steel square tubes from the US is probably cost prohibitive. I’m hoping somebody in the US who owns this saw can give me the outside dimensions of the rails and the distance between the rail and the cast table in millimeters so I can fabricate/powder coat something. I don’t really want to “wing it” and stuff up the cam lock or have the fence move half way through a cut. It’s kind of disappointing that Powermatic customer service is so poor here, this saw costs over $4000 new here and you can’t even reach the US reps to get help when the Australian/Asian reps don’t give a damn. I don’t think I’ll ever buy another Powermatic product based on this experience. Thanks in advance for any help, stay safe and healthy. Cheers!

Please confirm that you are talking about the Powermatic Accu-fence. Per the Accu-fence manual the front angle iron is 2" x 2" and the rear angle iron is 1-1/2" x 1-1/2". I will measure my Saw Stop "tube" which I would bet is a match. Most Better-than-Beis clones are interchangeable. Be right back . . . .
The fence tube is 2" x 3". No surprise in the standard US measurements. Bill Beisemeyer designed the thing in his shop around 1978 and really started things rolling around 1980 in Mesa, Arizona. I would bet that if you got someone who sells Powermatic to take a tape measure to a floor model, the measurements would be the same.
