Preserving hide glue from decay
Is wet hide glue going bad after a week or so biological decade, due to bacteria? Or chemical in nature?
Can preservative be added to extend wet hide glue life?
Can simple salt be added as preservative? Salt (as solid) is used to prevent creep in gluing up (laminating) with PVA and yellow glue, so salt should not weaken PVA or yellow glue joint. How about with hide glue?

No experience but have read somewhere that someone uses salt in hide glue as a preservative. I am interested in other responses, because someday I want to make hide glue from flakes.
This very moment, I'm editing a video with Patrick Edwards on hide glue.
Check out his video on storing hide glue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l41AXS5eBx8
There's another thread about this on FW

Patrick Edwards' advice is hard to beat!
