I am selling a Delta Unisaw Model 1450, made in 1953. It has a 2 hp 220v Baldor motor, no dust door or motor cover, in good condition. Delta rip fence. Anybody have an idea of what I could get for it? I am in the Washington, DC area.

Check Craig's list in your area
Marty:
An older Unisaw comes up on Craig's list in the Atlanta area now and then. They are usually priced around two hundred dollars assuming you have all of the pieces and the saw works. Your area may demand more.

I own 2 Unisaws presently, a '42 and a '84. I paid $250 for the 1942 with the same fence as yours (The Jetlock fence is a throw-away, in my opinion), that I just put a 52" Biesemeyer on. The 1984 has a 52" Unifence that came with it, and I paid $350 for it. Both have 3 hp motors in them. The 1942 came with a brand new Baldor replacement motor, 3 hp., single phase.
Hope this helps. They don't sell for much anymore, at least around Chicago, unless they are all fixed up with shiny tops, brand new extrension tables, Biesemeyer fence, and new bearings and paint.

Thanks gdblake and Jeff for your response. Hmmm...I would have thought I could get a lot more for the saw than what you guys suggest. I think I paid around $700 for it way back in the early 90s. But maybe the market for it has declined a lot. I will check out Craigslist for various cities to see if I can find anything similar.

Marty,
I'll help you out, son. If you pay my gas to DC from Kentucky, I'll give you $75 bucks for that rusty old pile and I'll haul it back to my shop -- eh, the DUMP for free. Is that a deal or what?
