Does anyone else constantly get a pop up for the Policy Statement when accessing a new web page? This occurs on my iPad all the time. It is like Spam! I ask here as I do not know if it is my iPad or the website. I am disinclined to use my membership access going forward.

Hi Derek, I'm not getting any FineWoodworking pop ups on my iPhone or Mac. I'm a retired computer engineer and may be able to help research your issue. It sounds like some sort of security setting is getting triggered from your brief description.
What is the exact text of the pop up?
What is the exact scenario (steps) prior to the pop up occurring? Safari browser? Chrome browser? FineWoodworking app?, etc.
P.S. I appreciate all of your contributions to the woodworking community.
Cheers, Gary
Are you "allowing third party cookies" for the FineWoodworking.com site in your browser? If blocked your broswer will not be allowed to save a preference setting and may need to ask permission each time it is accessed.
Thanks Gary.
I use Chrome on the iPad (Air 2; current IOS 15.77). I have just tried Safari, and it does not occur there.
The message I get on Chrome is attached below.

Derek, Great news that it does not occur on Safari.
What action do you take when you see that pop up?
Background: This is a new prompt for website "Cookie Policy" I believe put in place by new government regulations and since there is one browser world wide this was probably a common way for Google and each individual websites to comply. We are all going through the growing pains of this new goverment law. Now that you mention it I have seen this type of prompt on other sites. LeeValley.com is one recent example.
If I saw that prompt I'd uncheck the boxes for "Analytics" and "Advertising / Social Media" and then click on "I Accept". "Essential" cookies are essential and really the only way around it is to either not use the website / program or get prompted each new time one visits the site. YMMV.
This should then get saved in a "cookie" in the Chrome browser for that website and if everything works you should not see it again. But I have seen recent examples where the prompts keep popping up (LeeValley.com) is an example.
Google has a setting on their PC and Mac Chrome browser to either "block" or "accept" third party cookies. If your default is to "block" there is a little icon that looks like an eye in the space with the website URL (https//www...). Here one can selectively allow cookies for the current website. I generally block cookies by default and then allow for individual trusted sites like finewoodworking.com. I am not sure where this is located in my iPhone Chrome browser because I use the same settings as my Mac browser.
Hopefully my explanation makes sense if not please ask questions. I do think it will take some time before these annoying pop ups go away after your first visit to a site as the IT staffs improve the customer experience or Google solves it in Chrome.
Cheers, Gary
Cookies are data stored in your browser used to identify your browser to a web site. That is how one can visit finewoodworking.com, leevalley.com or lie-nielsen.com without having to re-login, etc.
