Problem Installing Delta 14″ Bandsaw Riser Block

I am installing a Delta riser block on my bandsaw, or I am trying to install it. I can’t get the top arm sepaated from the base. I removed the bolt holding the parts together but they do not budge. Is there another fastener that I am not seeing? When I try to lift the upper assembly off the base the whole bandsaw lifts. I am reluctant to whack it until I know that the only mechanical thing holding them together is that one bolt.

It has been a long time since I did this but I seem to remember a registration pin and a bolt.. Oh and I assume you took off the blade : )
If you have a rubber mallet that wouldn't hurt anything if you give it a good wack. Good luck.
Do a search for Delta bandsaw parts diagram. I found several on this fellow's site : mikestools.com . Look under parts list and find your saw.
Finally got the bandsaw apart. Tried the putty knige again and got them a little loose then used an auto jack to push the two halves apart. The pins were holding them together.
Were the registration pins rusted in their holes?

The bolt is the only fastner. There are two locating steel dowels so that you do not have to fuss with allogning the two halves. After slackening off the bolt to give you about, say, 1/8" free space, gently heat the upper member of the yoke with a propane torch. The problem here is that the dowels fit quite tightly, also the paint on the two surfaces has caused them to stick. So gently heat the upper part of the joint, while prying with a pry bar or heavy screwdriver. with a little work the two parts will separate.I've just done this successfully on my saw.
DO NOT remove the bolt completely untill the parts separate! If you do, you might need repairs to your foot, and possibly the top assembly also...
