I really like the finish I get with oil-hard wax finish (specifically Osmo) but shortly after opening and using a can, a thick “skin” forms on the surface. I don’t mind paying $50 + a quart for a great product but at this rate about half of it will be wasted. I wonder how others deal with this problem.

Didn’t David Marks recommend using Bloxygen?
I've been using Stop Loss bags for years with Tung oil, Seal-A-Cell, and Arm-R-Coat with great results. Imagine it would work with Osmo as well.
agree with Stop Loss bags. I use them with Waterlox.
I'll add my thumbs up for Stop Loss bags. I've been using them for several years with success. You can squeeze all of the air out of the bag and totally eliminate the skinning. I do wish they would make them with a larger spout and lid. But otherwise, a good product.
