My Pc starts to give me hard time by twisting itself causing the cuts go off with my set up. No matter how tight I try to tight the screw nut, after a few cuts I see it go off( Pc was set up for table). Any tips to fix this problem? Thank you.vn

Hmmmm, not totally clear here. Are you saying that the collet isn't holding the router bit tightly, and the router bit is rising up out of the collet?

If its been used a lot maybe its the bearings causeing vibration which is causeing the screw to come loose. I had the same problem even came up with some alternate ways of tightening it but to no avail. I talked to a PC guy at a wood show and he told me to check the bearings. i did and sure enough had themn r&r'd for 60 bucks and its like a new router again.

Hi,
I mean the body turn itself. the collet is good. I marked both of them and found that the body turned clockwise. It seems like happened randomly (no bit change, no set up change) after a few cuts. I am not sure, how much is a lot off use. I am just an armature, woodworking as an hobbyist(spelling). How can we check the bearing? Thank you. vn
Do you mean the router it self turns and loosens when it is being used? Is the screw that you tighten to adj the height coming loose. If it is then check out my previous answer. If it is not the problem please give more info.

If the router body turns or loosens while in use, either the pins on the router body are worn, or the female grooves on the base are. One or the other should be replaced.Otherwise, you might replace the locknut with a finer thread locknut to provide better holding strength. With a pc router, I find that the D- handle offers better control.
Hi,
It's the body itself. The screw is tighted. It happened again last night when I tried to make a test piece. However, I think I notice one thing that it happened when I pushed down the test piece on the table so hard. If this is the case,it could be my table is so weak that cause a wrap, forced the router body twisted itself. I made the table from 3/4' melamine glue to 3/4" MDF and support by 2x4 . The plate is made from 1/2" plexi glass. My guess , the problem could be the plate 'cause I made it a little over size 12"x 14". Any ideas. Thanks. vn.
That actually sounds more plausable. Melamine doesn't hold up so well to pressure. All those Shopko bookcases just sag when they get weighted, and it gets worse over time. Hey, good excuse to do a different top. Try two pieces of 3/4 cabinet ply and a Rousseau insert. Laminate it for the smooth ride. If it's not the issue, somethings real screwy with your connection between the motor body and the housing, no pun intended.
