I am having a problem with 80 grit hook and loop sanding disks for my random orbit sander. No problem with finer grit and I haven’t tried coarser.
The disks spin off the sander after just a few minutes and will not stick after that.
I have tried several brands with the same result.
Has anybody experienced the same problem?
Is there a particular brand that works better?
Thanks,
C.

Get a new pad.

Pad brand new.
I use PC ROS's and Mirka Hook and Loop sandpaper from 80 to 320 grit. Never had one fly off.
Maybe just lucky?
Thank you for your reply.
Nothing wrong with being lucky !
Where do you buy your disks? Thanks again,C.
Typically buy at woodworking shows. Try amazon.com or peachtree. Good luck.
A bad day woodworking is better than a good day working -- yes, I'm retired!
I had this exact problem with my PC ROS. Replacing the pad solved it. Maybe you got a defective replacement?
And why finer git disks are sticking well ?
Yep, new pad. The 80 & 60 grit pads create more resistance when they cut than the finer grits but they require a pretty good pad to stay on. Otherwise they will tear themselves right off.

Be sure to check out e-bay for the pad. Its always hit or miss but if someone is selling one you can save a lot of money this way. Good luck

As it turned out it wasn't the pad (I would have been surprised to have a defective brand new pad !) I bought Mirka disks and they work perfectly. Thanks Treehouse,C.
You're welcome.
