Sorry if this has been covered before. Looking for product review, comments from users, etc.
My local big box home improvement store has stopped putting Deft on the shelf.
They do however now carry a similar spray can product. Brand label is American Accents, but in small font is ‘By Rust-Oleum’. The can is among the many spray paints by American Accents in many colors. But this is labeled “Clear Top Coat.” Contents given on label has products similar to contents of Lacquer Thinner.
Spray can about $3.25 USD. Beige color can with clear plastic top.
I bought a can, tried on scrap wood. Doesn’t seem to smell as overpowering as Deft, but still has that ‘lacquer thinner’ smell. Just stinks up the shop, not the whole house. Finish looks like a ‘matt’ finish, a little less than a semi-gloss.
Thought I would get someone else opinion before using on a project.
TIA
Phil

Don't know about the big box replacement for Deft but you can get Deft at ACE hardware stores and "Do It" hardware stores (Check the Deft web site for their distributors).

Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with an ax.

I guess I didn't make my request clear. I am not looking for other places to purchase Deft.
I am looking for product reviews of the specific product I mentioned. Specifically knowledge of VOC contents, how likely is sags and runs, between coat sanding, hardness of finish, bonding to wood, working with sanding sealers, and so on.
In short, could this product be equal to, better than, or just another also ran. Heck, I don't know if it is a lacquer or a clear enamel finish.

Phil ,
Maybe you can contact Rust -Oleum co, or American Accents for tech support on this particular product.
