upon filling out my profile for this board I noticed that they asked for ones occupation. I find it ironical that there is no listing for one actually working in the woodworking industry as such ron View Image upcoming project is to rebuild this clinker built rowboat. It was given to me a year ago this month by a friend on Saturna Is to whom it was given by a fellow leaving Saturna. Bob was cleaning it up and saw the stamp on the inside and gave me a call and asked if I wanted this boat that he had been given. I hadn’t seen one of these since I was 6 years old in 51, I said yes that I would love it. It was 1 of 3,000 that was produced from my dad’s boatshop in Steveston,B.C. my Chesapeake Bay Retriever,Inde ron

Welcome aboard, Ron. We've already chatted once, but I thought I'd reply to your post.
I also found it ironic 9 or so years ago when I found this forum that woodworking was not an option in the profile dropdown list.
Great looking pooch. I recently lost my buddy, best friend and shopdog, Trooper, after 12 wonderful years. They never complain, and they're always happy to see ya. He looks like a happy one, too.
Have fun with the rowboat.
Jeff

"they did have pretty nice lines to them"
Yep, that clinker is no clunker.
44th anniversary? Your father died young. I was lucky to have my dad until 2006, but he still seems to be with me when I use his tools in my shop.
Ron this is our other child King, he is my constant companion seen as my shop is here at home. He knows when it's time to head down to the shop,

That is one beautiful dog. You may also be interested in the wooden boat forum. Lots of knowledgeable folks over there too. http://www.woodenboat.com/forum/index.php
thank you; and I am glad that he can't read as he knows when the conversation always turns to him. I walk into town almost every day and get approached 2 or 3 times each time about him
