Hi all,
What are the general proportions for the traditional vertical slats and spaces in the ends of an arts & crafts table?
Thanks!

Not sure if it is traditional, but I like to apply the golden ration in as many of my designs as possible.
"WHAT IS THE GOLDEN RATIO? Mathematically speaking, the Golden Ratio is a ratio of 1 to 1.618, which is also known as the Golden Number. The 1:1.618 might also be expressed using the Greek letter phi, like this: 1: φ. In our artworks, this ratio creates a pleasing aesthetic through the balance and harmony it creates." (from UCSART.com)
That means that the slats would be 1.618 times wider than the gaps. Or vice versa. Practically speaking, that says a 2" slat should be spaced with an inch & quarter space. Lay it out, see if you like it. Please post pics when you are done so we can see how it turned out.
