I need to veneer a cabinet in place (long story). It’s a big area, about 2’x8′. Anyway, I was hoping that one of the psa veneers can be prestained and laquered before applying. Will it buckle mercilessly? Or maybe will the laquer melt the psa adhesive? Any advice greatly appreciated! (It’s for my employer’s house)

Hmmm....That sounds like an unhappy story!
http://www.tapeease.com offers psa veneers in all sorts of species. They'll prefinish it clear, and they have some colors too.
