I want to use PT 1X4 slats (running vertical) to cover the bottom of a shed that I built (instead of lattice) and was wondering if I need to leave space in between each slat? I would like to have them but up against each other. Not sure if seasonal expansion is less of an issue with PT vs regular pine? If so, would the spacing of the circumference of a common nail be enought space to leave?

Pressure treated will expand and contract the same as the untreated wood.

I have found that PT lumber often shrinks more than other lumber .Some manufacturers leave it very wet after treatment, others kiln it and it is a bit more stable.Put a meter on it .As a guide a S-dry spruce stud is 19%
If you but them tight together, they will shrink after you install them and you will have a small gap in-between.

Butt 'em up tight.
