I could use some advise. I have been working with purple heart stock for a small project. After jointing, sawing and sanding I have a brownish tone to the wood not the purple tone I was wanting. What have I done wrong? What can I do to get the purple tone back.

Relax Gary:
Allow to get some sunlight it will purple out. Purpleheart turns to purple when exposed to UV, the purple color is an oxidation on surface, doesn't go real deep. What I do is finish project, sand , then expose to indirect sunlight for a few days ,then just a light onceover w/ fine grit (say 220 -320) .
