I made a Purple Heart box and need suggestions on how to finish it.
I see there are some post that go back to 2005 so I was hoping thatÂ
someone has some updates on this.

I built a purple heart box for my wife a good fifteen, maybe 20 years ago. I finished it with some General Finishes clear waterbased poly. It's still holding it's purple color today. It sits out on her dresser, and has since I gave it to her.
Thanks - been following this one too! appreciated...
I saw where someone treated purpleheart with lemon juice to prevent the color from changing. I've never tried it so I can't say whether it works.
Same here with the General Finishes high performance water based poly. I chose it because it dries clear without yellowing and lets the color shine through. A lot of direct sunlight will change the color with time.
